Marie’s story

Marie was due in October and she also had had a previous LSCS but now wanted a vaginal birth at home.

She was two weeks over due however and decided to visit the obstetrician. She had had signs that labour was imminent and was determined to tell the doctor that she was going to wait a few more days if following a well-being scan her baby was ok!!

I felt this was a good plan. However she had not anticipated the doctor being so unsupportive and he convinced her that she was being very foolhardy and should come in for another LSCS straight away.

Marie reluctantly agreed and had her baby the next day. At the time she said she was happy with her decision but a few months later she was feeling very angry that her choices were not supported and regrets her visit to the doctor.

She wrote him a letter to express her displeasure at his manner but received no reply!
