Tanja's Story

It is only today that I can find 5 minutes to switch on my PC and catch up with some writting.. as our little Hannah decided to make a very early appearance :-)

It is amazing to read our birth story that Virgina has written - especially because I feel that she has understated her part in the successful delivery! My husband and I can't stop praising Virginia because we know that I would have probably ended up with a CS instead of active labour!!!

During our ante-natal care sessions had we talked about a lot of aspects of labour and interventions, so I felt confident and informed when the time came. But in addition she would stand up to anybody in the hospital and fight like a lion to protect my baby's and my interests!!!

Only a very passionate & confident yet professional and knowledgable woman could have done this so successfully, without offending anybody! She would challange
the midwife on duty sharply where appropriate and always with respect - and she got her to actually assist a labour & birth that was completely new to her.

We will be eternally grateful for her strength and her knowledge and not to forget her sense of humor!

The saga continues as little Hannah is suffering from jaundice and has trouble feeding - again Virginia is there for us day & night, and it seems we are over the worst now!

I guess all I want to say is that in my book Virginia is the hero of that birth story, I merely followed her advice, guidance and my common sense (or what was left of it).
